• BLEACH MANGA / ANIME
ブリーチ (Buriichi / Bleach) is the series created by Tite Kubo (pen name) / Kubo Taito (久保帯人 pen name) / Kubo Noraiki. If that name sounds familiar, he's also responsible for the Zombie Powder series which was abruptly cancelled.
Bleach? By now, you've probably heard about this story a billion times. A orange haired high school boy who befriends a shinigami that changes his life. The shinigami is condemned on deathrow and so on. Then there's alot of drama that happens while that happens! Conspiracy, betrayal, and so on. Sort of like a soap opera if you ask me.

Anime
The Bleach anime started airing on TVTOKYO every Tuesday from 18:30 - 19:00 since October 2004. From then on, the popularity of Bleach skyrocketed. Merchandise popping everywhere, miscellaneous fandoms ranging from Mayuri hate/love to pairings of Byakuya to trees and what not.
The anime is produced by
Pierrot. They're the same animation production company who are responsible for the Naruto and Hikaru no Go animes. Also, the seiyuus, especially that of Ichigo's, tend to do many specials inregards to the series. There is currently a radio show
called "Bleach B Station" and there are also frequent video messages on
Bleach-Fan.jp done by the seiyuus of the anime.
As of winter of 2005, over 60 episodes of Bleach have been aired.
Where to buy?
For those dying to feed your Bleach obsession with random merchandise. Seriously, who wouldn't want to buy a haori with their favorite captain's division number on it? (well, there's a 500 limit to these things and they're also 5000 yen) or maybe you just simply want to finish your tankubon collection? The following
is a list of recommended links which you can buy random anime merchandise or books. Either my friends or I have bought things from these places and received them in great condition, so these places should be 'safe' sites to buy from.
Internet Stores
» Sasuga Japanese Bookstore : For Japanese books and manga.
» YesAsia.com : You can buy cds, movies, manga, and many other things. I usually go here for my cds and for random manga.
» Amazon / Amazon Japan : Another great place for books and other various things. I usually buy things at
Amazon.co.jp because the usually have what I want.
For instance, you can get the latest Bleach tankubon the day of release there. Also, they're usually always instock compared to other stores. However, shipping from there will be a bit pricey.
» Ebay.com : Search "bleach anime", but don't buy from sellers other than those from Japan or trusted American sellers. At a animecon a few years ago, I overheard a girl saying "i wish i lived in Taiwan! there's so much anime stuff there!". That's fine with me, if you want
counterfeit / bootlegged items. Common bootlegged items include anime cds. The publisher of the Bleach OST should be SME Visual Works and not anyone else.
Other Stores
Here is a list of stores which I've bought manga from while traveling.
» Kinokuniya : Another Japanese bookstore. I've only been to the one in New York. I also found this bookstore by accident.
» UNY (JP / HK) : I've only been to the one in Hong Kong. I guess it's pretty interesting because half the sales people there were shouting "irasshaimase!" (welcome) and other welcoming things in really bad Chinese accents.
I went to this Japanese restaurant in HK where all the servers had to introduce everything in Japanese. It all turned out to be mumbles. I was so tempted to ask the server to repeat what he said in Japanese but then again, eh I doubt he'd understand.
