Family Background : He is the eldest son from low-class aristocrat Ukitake Family. His siblings consists of five brothers and two sisters. Including his own siblings, he is basically supports most of his family members by himself.

Illness: Ukitake has had lung problems ever since he was born, and he tends to sleep a lot because of it. Since Ukitake is such a kind and skilled captain, he is quite respected by Shinigami from even other divisions. The reason why Ukitake's hair is white is because his hair turned white in 3 days when his lung problem first surfaced.

Food : Ochatsuke (dried plum with tea). He doesn't have any food that he dislikes. Ukitake also likes to eat alot even though his body is weak.

Other: Because the sound of "Jyuushirou" and "Toushirou" are similar, Ukitake has a one-sided like for Hitsugaya. So, Ukitake always has urges to give him food whenever he sees him.
