Ishikawa Hideo (石川英郎) is the seiyuu (voice actor) for Ukitake Jyuushirou in the Bleach anime series. One of the things you may initially notice with Ishikawa's voice sounds nothing like any of the character he portrays. His voice is incredibly versatile. He's able to convincingly portray many different characters ranging from a sports announcer to the murderer of an entire clan in the popular anime series, Naruto.

For me, it took a while to get used to Ishikawa's role as Ukitake. Initially I thought it was simply 'wrong', it didn't seem like the Ukitake I imagined. But if you listen to the 'fight for life or fight for pride' speach Ukitake does to Rukia, it's rather convincing. He doesn't sound strict, he doesn't sound like he's lecturing, but rather someone who is simply concerned with his subordinate.
